There are some great things happening here at Thalia. I hope you will be as excited as I am!!

TGIF starts May 11th from 6:00 pm - 10:30 pm. Our parking lot will be closed & be transformed into a gathering place. Our lot will have quarter pipes, basketball hoops, and a portable graffiti wall. Indoors at the OASIS, we also have videos, internet café, board games, cards, snacks, drinks, a prize drawing and some really cool people if you just wanna hang out. We will have a time to gather for some music & prayer. This is open to all youth in grades 6 thru 12. Cost is $1

Our Sonshine projects have included 4 trips to Smithfield, VA to help renovate homes that were flooded by Ernesto. We also spent a day cleaning Emmanuel Lutheran pre-school area. Some upcoming projects include Bingo with senior citizens, yard work, beach clean-up, soup kitchen etc. Keep checking our list of events for dates & times.

West Virginia is our location for a mission/outreach. We are heading to the Canaan Valley July 10-15th. There are openings for 7 more youth & 3 additional adults. Our fun times will include a canoe trip, Friday night bowling (entire alley reserved for this event), campfires, hayrides, meeting new friends and lots of ways to share to God's love with the community. $20 deposit required.

KingsFest @ King's Dominion - July 5th thru 7th. Cost for concerts & park admission is $70 for the 3 day event. Cost for food, transportation & lodging TBA.

Youth Bible studies continue on Wednesday afternoons. We are finishing Acts and will move into the prophets & some of Paul's letters this summer. A pool party would be a great way to keep cool as we study God's word together.

This is only a small sample of what's happening with Thalia's youth. Our group is growing and we are eagerly awaiting the announcement of our annual OBX retreat. I am looking forward to summer when we get to enjoy the beach in the midst of service projects, youth gatherings, and Bible studies. But no matter where we go or what we do, we are ever mindful of whose we are - a child of God. How cool is that!!??!!
