Thalia United Methodist Women
Welcome to Thalia United Methodist Women's website! We're glad you're here and welcome the opportunity to tell you a little about our organization and ourselves.
The United Methodist Women are a community of women who are:
- Faithful
- Purposeful
- Supportive
- Responsive
- Global
- Unique
Our goals for 2008
- To increase among our church women an understanding of the duties and achievements of the United Methodist Women and to encourage them to become active.
- To start a new circle for younger women.
- To promote and use the Reading Program.
- To provide more general meetings and encourage more participation in Mission Studies.
- To improve attendance at all meetings.
- To participate in "Mission Today" and become a "Six Star Unit."
On a global level, we are over 1,000,000 members strong. Any woman may become a member who chooses to belong, is committed to the purpose, and is willing to be involved in global mission through United Methodist Women. Our PURPOSE is as follows:
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
