Thalia United Methodist Women

Welcome to Thalia United Methodist Women's website! We're glad you're here and welcome the opportunity to tell you a little about our organization and ourselves.

The United Methodist Women are a community of women who are:

Faithful
Purposeful
Supportive
Responsive
Global
Unique

Our goals for 2008

  1. To increase among our church women an understanding of the duties and achievements of the United Methodist Women and to encourage them to become active.
  2. To start a new circle for younger women.
  3. To promote and use the Reading Program.
  4. To provide more general meetings and encourage more participation in Mission Studies.
  5. To improve attendance at all meetings.
  6. To participate in "Mission Today" and become a "Six Star Unit."

On a global level, we are over 1,000,000 members strong. Any woman may become a member who chooses to belong, is committed to the purpose, and is willing to be involved in global mission through United Methodist Women. Our PURPOSE is as follows:

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

On a local level, we are made up of four circles:
