Thalia United Methodist Women
Welcome to Thalia United Methodist Women's website! We're glad you're here and welcome the opportunity to tell you a little about our organization and ourselves.
The United Methodist Women are a community of women who are:
- Faithful
- Purposeful
- Supportive
- Responsive
- Global
- Unique
Our goals for 2011
- To spiritually strengthen our devotions and programs by using the Program Book and the Prayer Calendar, so that we may grow closer to God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ.
- To educate our church women about United Methodist Women and its role in the global ministries of the church.
- To purchase more books on the Reading Program, encourage their use and keep better records of readership.
- To support and nurture a Circle for young women of Thalia.
- To improve attendance at all circle and general meetings.
- To provide more local "hands on" mission opportunities.
- To participate in "Mission Today Silver Unit" and strive to be a "Six Star Unit".
On a global level, we are over 1,000,000 members strong. Any woman may become a member who chooses to belong, is committed to the purpose, and is willing to be involved in global mission through United Methodist Women. Our PURPOSE is as follows:
