Relay for Life News

The Thalia Striders, Relay for Life team is getting organized for Relay 2008. There is always a spot for another person wanting to make a difference in someone's life. We do fund raising functions throughout the year, raising money for the American Cancer Society. We have taken First Place for raising the most money for a Non-Corporate organization for the past (2) years. This gives us great pride in what we are doing. Also a large portion of the money raised stays here in the community helping people in their fight against cancer. Relay of Life reaches out to the community, therefore, we welcome non-church members to join us. If you want to make a difference in someone's life while having fun doing it, please come out and join the Thalia Striders. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00PM at Thalia UMC.

The Thalia Striders are at it again. We are raising money to help the fight against cancer and getting ready for the big event this Spring.

At the event, we'll camp out overnight, walk around the track, and meet lots of new people. There is an incredible tribute to cancer survivors and caregivers that starts off the night and a moving ceremony honoring those who have fought the disease. I can truly say Relay is unlike anything else you'll ever do. It's a night full of fun, hope, and remembrance.
